MES Fourth Graders on the News

Despite temperatures in the low forties and snow flurries, Montgomery Elementary School’s Fourth Grade class gave a warm welcome to 11Alive meteorologist Allison Chinchar and Pirelli, a handicapped service dog, when the television station’s Hope and Weather Tour visited the school on March 26. The entire grade got a chance to show their Mustang spirit as 11Alive broadcasted the weather live from Montgomery!

Montgomery science teacher Mrs. Weihe coordinated the visit to teach the students about the science of weather and weather safety. Pirelli, the dog who has become the mascot for the 11Alive Morning Show, comes along to teach children that just because you look different, it doesn’t mean you aren’t important. If the smiles and enthusiasm of the fourth grade students was any indication, his message got through loud and clear!
